Quick Update

Sorry for the late page, it’s been yet another busy week in Bug-ville, full of things I can’t really talk about on the internet! Hooray!

In addition to the new page, there’s also a new vote incentive featuring a doodle I made goofing off with a new Photoshop technique. Vote to see!

Don’t forget to vote for the other Hive comics, too!

Chapter Eight is quickly drawing to a close and will likely be over by next Friday. There are about three pages left, though I’m debating jamming a fourth in to clarify a point. Maybe. 😐

In news, the Reader’s Choice vote for the fanart contest is now closed and the winner is, once again, SandraMJ! Thanks again to everyone who participated!

I’ve tried to get myself back on track with work on the second book and have completed a few more new pages. My new goal is to have it completed by the end of September and thus at the printers (and hopefully in your hands) in October or November. But we shall see. :V

That’s about all I’ve got for now! Check back on Friday for the next page!

2010 Fan Contest Winners!

2010 Fan Contest Winners! published on No Comments on 2010 Fan Contest Winners!

After a long month of constant spam and reminders, the contest is over and the category winners have been decided! Thanks to Arby for helping me out with judging! Although there weren’t many entries, they were all skillfully and thoughtfully done and I really appreciate all the effort that went into each one! Thanks to everyone who contributed an entry!

As stated in the original rules, there is one winner from each category chosen by the judges. Additionally, a poll is now open to all readers to choose one “Reader’s Choice” winner from all the entries. You can vote for your favorite entry once per day. To view all of the entries, check this page! The polls will remain open until midnight EST on Saturday, September 11th. Get voting!

Congratulations, and thanks for the hard work you put into your entries! You each receive a free vector commission – comment or email me with your requests! You can also request a custom title for the forum to be displayed by your username.

But it’s not over just yet! There’s still one prize left, and it’s up to the readers to decide! Of all the entries, vote for your favorite! You can vote once a day through midnight on September 11th, when the polls will close. The winner will also receive a free digital commission. (You might want to pass around a link to the poll for your friends so they can help get your favorite to the top!)

Even though the contest might be over, new fanart is always an awesome surprise! You can post it on the forum or on the Deviantart Group!

First order of business: a pile of fanart acquired over the past week or so! 😀

But not one of them is a contest entry! I’ve even extended the deadline by one full week, so if you’ve been thinking about entering now’s your chance! There are not many entries, so you still stand an awesome chance at winning one of the prizes!

There’s also a brand-new vote incentive this week, drawn by the one and only Chu of Slightly Damned! Be careful, though, you might just die of the cuteness!

Since some of my friends’ comics and Messenger share some audience members, I thought it would be a nifty idea to slap each of our TopWebComics voting links on one convenient page. Now, you can bookmark one single page and get all your votes in together, as well as automatically pass it on to your friends through Twitter, Facebook, and basically everything under the sun! Check it out! Go hive go!

Last, but not least, it’s time for the next round of Webcomic Book Club courtesy of the members of Palace in the Sky! Our “assignment” this week was to check out Cy-Boar, an action/superhero comic by Lou Graziani. It’s a fun story with interesting art, especially if you grew up being into things like the Ninja Turtles as a kid. You can check out our reviews and add your own commentary on the Palace in the Sky Blog! Next up is actually Messenger, which makes me both excited and nervous!
