Ugh, I spent 90% of last week being really sick with a nasty ear infection, 5% doing stuff around the apartment that needed doing, and the other 5% playing the heck out of Fallout 3, which is an amazing game. To add insult to injury, it was also Spring Break week for me! What a waste!
So basically what I mean to say is between being sick and slacking, I kind of missed posting anything new. Oops. So that’ll be up shortly.
In other news, the book is a definite go. Here are my not-totally-100% plans:
I plan on getting a test proof through lulu and if the quality is as good as I’m hoping, I’ll release it to the public. Right now I’ve got all of chapter one converted to fit the pages and I am working on some extra content to go along with it. This includes stuff like extra backstory to go along with chapter one that isn’t on the website, and extra bonus comics that also won’t be available online. In total, I expect it to top out at around 60 – 65 pages depending on how long the bonus comics work out to be. (It may also be longer!) It will be printed in black and white (the pages actually look surprisingly good this way!) and it will be 6″ x 9″, pretty much standard comic paperback size. I draw the pages quite a bit larger than this, so they look really nice scaled down to this size. I am aiming to keep the cost down, so the total cost of the book will be around $10 or less. It’s not a very big book, so I don’t expect shipping costs to be high. (Unless you live in East Jahunga, then I dunno what you’re going to do.)
Don’t worry if you can’t get a copy, it’s not as if I rely on this to survive or anything. Pretty much anything I make is just going to go into my general “Bug Buys Comic Supplies and Survives Fund” so yeah. I won’t be offended or anything. :B
If I sell a few copies of the first, I will probably do chapter two in a few months, which means – you guessed it – a whole book on the Chios. Everyone loves the Chios.
So yeah, that’s about all I’ve got for the moment. Back to work and all.
