Fall Vote Incentives

Fall Vote Incentives published on No Comments on Fall Vote Incentives

So I updated but totally forgot to post any kind of news updates. Not that there’s much going on, but eh.

Things are starting to take a twist, story-wise. I just finished scanning most of the rest of the chapter and I’m impressed with how much text there is as the chapter goes along. I typically used to avoid doing things like this, but it kind of works in this situation. Can’t say too much without giving it away~

I’ve also drawn up a few new voting incentives picturing the characters doing cute fall-ish things. I was also thinking of doing a “voting drive” the way some comics do donation drives. Like if the comic can get boosted up 50-100 places or so on the list, I’ll do an extra page for the week or something. It really doesn’t take much to get it moving up the list, so that’s something to think about.

In the meantime, if you want to see Eldora being cute for the fall, please vote!

This is also kind of unimportant, but I’m linking it so hopefully Google will pick it up when it sweeps the site but I have a press release for the book I’m trying to get floating around. Not that I actually expect it to go anywhere, but it couldn’t hurt. So, new comic book press release thing here…

Murphy-free

Murphy’s Law – everything that can go wrong, will. This is pretty much life in general for me. But for some reason, this past week has been Murphy-free. Which is awesome.

My proof copy of the book came in! I can’t believe how nice it looks! I thought for sure I messed something up somewhere and I’d have to redo it all, but this is not the case! The print is crisp and even, and the materials are really nice quality. It feels like any book you’d pick up at a bookstore. It came packed in a box, wrapped up with a cardboard backing so it wouldn’t get destroyed in the mail, which is great. I was really afraid that it would just get tossed in a padded envelope or something and get bent up on the way here, but not so! In addition to that, shipping was really quick! After they produced the book, it only took two days to get here. I’m not sure if they’re that quick all the time, but I certainly can’t complain.

The only downside is that the price went up slightly when I made it public. I suppose that’s Lulu’s way of making back some of the money to pick up an ISBN and list it on Amazon and all that. Oh well. I tried. 🙁 Occasionally they put out discount codes, in which case I’ll post them here if anyone’s interested.

On the upside, though, the book now has an ISBN number and barcode, which means that you should be able to order it from other places like Amazon or an actual bookstore, although I get a bigger cut of royalties if you order it through Lulu. There’s also an e-book version available for practically nothing, if you’re into that kind of thing.

For now, you can find it on Lulu by clicking here. I’ll post up again when it’s listed on Amazon and B&N. The ISBN is 978-0-557-14877-6 which will help if you’re going to get it from a bookstore, but I’d wait at least a few weeks before trying that since I’m sure it’ll have to get added to a bunch of databases.

If you missed the last post, I was also interviewed earlier this week and that’s available here.

That’s all for now!
