Hey comic readers! I hope my American readers had a great Thanksgiving, and that everyone else had a great weekend in general. I baked a pie and ate way too much, so mine was pretty good.

Today is the last day the November wallpaper will be available! If you’ve thought about downloading it, now’s your last chance! You can donate any amount to the comic via Paypal to receive it. Like always, it’s available as a high-resolution file in widescreen and standard formats. Remember that every donation goes toward an extra weekly comic page! The December wallpaper will be going up tomorrow.

Using the new artwork I created for the wallpaper, I also put together an ornament that’s available from Cafepress. I’ll probably be taking it down after the holidays are over (sometime in January?) so if you’d like one, now’s a great time to jump on it because Cafepress is running all kinds of holiday coupon codes all the time.

In other notes, I’ve updated the Story Guide to bring the summary-so-far up to date. The Shop has also been updated to fix broken links as well as include a link to the Webcomics: What’s Cooking? anthology.

There is a new printable flyer on the site you can download and hang up to help spread the word about Messenger. Simply download, print, cut the tabs, and hang it up somewhere for people to see.

Since I’ve started posting pages twice a week I’ve really been trying to get the word out about my comic and build up readership, and one of the best ways to do this is by word of mouth, so if you enjoy Messenger please tell your friends! Happy November, comic readers! I hope everyone had a fantastic Halloween last night.

It’s the first of the month, so your votes are really important this week! There’s a new vote incentive featuring a rough version of a page from one of the bonus comics I’ve put together for book 2. I’ve completed the pages, but it wouldn’t be much fun to give everything away.

This month’s wallpaper features Eldora and Finnegan goofing off in a pile of autumn leaves. Donate any amount via Paypal and you’ll be automatically redirected to a download link. Monday Update

Not much for news this week. I accidentally broke (and fixed) the site, and I’m working on a redesign which I hope to install on the site this upcoming weekend. You can see a preview on the forum. Although I’m well into revisions on it, any feedback is appreciated.

The Halloween wallpaper is still available by voting this week, though I will probably change the incentive sometime soon, so if you haven’t downloaded it yet you still have a chance to!

And so Chapter Seven ends. And Eldora is still alive. For now? Tee hee. The whole debate has been fairly entertaining. Let’s do it again sometime. ;)

As always, previous pages of this minicomic are archived on the forum. You need to be a registered member to view them!

What else is new this week? Not much. I’ve made a few relatively unimportant changes to the site, like making it a 3-column layout to eliminate the clutter in the sidebar. I’ve also started watermarking all the comic pages. Not because I think anyone is necessarily going to steal them, but it’s one of those things I sort of feel like I should have been doing from the beginning. At least they’ll be sort of dated now, and if anyone ever “borrows” one of them, it’ll at least have a link back to where it came from. Whatever. :V

I’ve been doing a mini ad-blitz lately to try and bring more readers to the site. Traffic is definitely up, so if you’re reading this and you’re new, welcome! I hope you’ll stick around. On the other hand, if you’re already a regular reader, maybe you’ll consider passing the comic along to some of your friends? Pointing in the general direction of the Promote page, hint hint. :B

Lastly, on a completely unrelated note, go download this and listen to it. It’s free and free music is good, right? I have been a huge Nine Inch Nails nerd since forever, so I’m finding How to Destroy Angels pretty interesting and I’ve been listening to it all weekend. On top of that, I’m a big fan of the way they’ve started releasing a lot of their new music for free with the option to buy a hard copy, so I’m interested in supporting that if possible. It’s a bit like the way webcomics are distributed, when you think about it – you can read the comic for free online, but occasionally there are books or other extra physical goodies available for a small amount. At any rate, I’d like to see more music available this way someday, so I’m all for that. Vote with your wallet. :V
