My proof copy of the book should be here any day now. I hate waiting for things to come in the mail.

Meanwhile, I am coloring and prepping the next month (or so) worth of pages I’ve had sitting around inked, so all that will be set to go. Looks like I should be updating weekly (barring crazy circumstances?) through 2010. I am winner. \*w*/

Going back to coloring and mourning the music that got me through high school and college. D:

This update is a two-page update, because when I looked at it again the first page of chapter six is kind of lame and feels like a letdown after waiting for updates so long. So in case you didn’t notice the big note above the comic page, you’ll want to go back a page or two to catch up. Not that there’s much in the way of spoilers here, but confusion happens.

In other notes, the forums are back up and fixed, so go post something. You may have also noticed the “radio chio” link in the top menu. This is new. I’ve seen a bunch of artists and other folks using this site called ustream, so I decided to give it a go. From time to time I plan on doing live streams of drawing and comic stuff, where people can jump in and ask questions and so forth. I did an unannounced test run the other day, and a few random folks jumped in. It was pretty fun, so I hope to do more of this in the future. Watch this blog or the Twitter feed for dates and times.

I have also put in some work on the book this week. If I have the time to finish the art, I hope to have it released by late fall. Maybe I should just set a deadline for myself and be done with it?

I’ve been trying to get everything back together on the back end, making sure all the software that powers the site is up to date and in good shape. So far it is, which makes my life that much easier. :D

In addition to this, I also patched and updated the security on the forums, since they’ve been sitting pretty dormant for a while now and I thought it would be nice to have them up again. I’ve seen comments from a few new faces in the past few weeks, so if there are more out there don’t feel too shy to leave a comment or drop by the forums! (I don’t bite, I swear! My cat does, though.)

Been getting pages ready. I am taking a slightly different stance on the way I’m working through this chapter. I plan on experimenting more with the art and tools where I can, and taking it less seriously. I’ve been playing with a brush and ink and it’s something I could certainly adapt to the comic. It’s very relaxing to work with, which is what this all should be. Working on the comic has felt sort of stale lately, which is part of why updates have been so infrequent. Hopefully this will make it feel more new and interesting for a while. :)

Other than that, life is life as usual. New pages will be up the 27th!

We’re currently trucking around the East coast taking pictures of everything and generally having a grand time. Roadtrips are great.

Hopefully I’ll have some drawings to post up on my return. :B

So I haven’t updated in quite some time. Unfortunately, life has gotten far busier than I planned on (when does it not?) and I’ve been caught up in all the wedding stuff, and graduating stuff, and job-hunting stuff, and so here I am, comic-less. I keep working with good intentions of updating, but I just never get a chance to with so much other stuff going on. It’s frustrating, but the end really is in sight.

Having thought about it, I’m just going to call it what it is and take a break. The story isn’t caught in mid-chapter, I have the next ten or so pages sketched up, and some of them even inked and colored, so I’m in a good place to be ready to go when I get there. But for the next month, I’m going to be up to my eyeballs in crazy. I’m getting married in two weeks (holy crap when did that happen) and then I’m going on a roadtrip for the next three weeks after that, so while all I’d really like to do is get a comic done, I know it ain’t getting done in that span of time. :/

My plans for doing the book are still on, but like everything else, that takes time and I want to do it well, so in reality it takes even more time. But it will be worth it when I get there.

My plan is to be back and ready to go on the 27th, which is right around the time I first started posting the comic back in 2004. It makes sense, and it falls in a nice spot, time-wise. So that shall be that.

In the meantime, this is probably a nice chance to go back and catch up on the story if you’ve missed anything. And if you were ever thinking of clicking the “Donate” button in the sidebar, this would be a good time since my hosting bill comes up while I’m gone and my budget is looking kind of rough at the moment. D:
