a challenger approaches
So some friends of mine put together a challenge: everyone picks a photo, and out of that set, everyone has to do a drawing for each photo using only colors sampled from it. The idea is to try new palettes and work with color in a different way. I’ve done a bunch of drawings using the photos we picked, so here they are. :B

paint!
I’ve been goofing off with brushes in Photoshop a lot lately. Finding a brush that does what I want is one of my major points of dissatisfaction with making drawings entirely in Photoshop, but I’ve found a few that do what I want and so I’ve been experimenting a bunch.
